Thank you for considering me for your next remix project! I love collaborating with other artists, and remixing is a great way to scratch that itch. Plus, the cross-promotional buzz is always a plus!
I have lots of collaborative experience and decades of time logged in the studio. Check out my LinkInBio to get an idea of my sound and style, including several successful remix projects.
I believe that clarity and communication are essential to a successful collaboration. If everything looks good below, please write back and say you’re on board with the remix agreement, and we’ll get started!
SCOPE OF WORK & DELIVERABLES
I will create an original and innovative remix of your song, generally in the electronic dance music style, unless otherwise requested. I’ll deliver the final, professionally produced, and mastered track within 4 weeks of receiving the necessary materials from you.
My remix will be mastered to exceed the audio requirements of popular streaming services (-8 to -9 integrated LUFS). I will not use any unauthorized samples and I will not share your song’s stems with anyone else. I typically don’t use sample packs and I definitely never use AI-generated audio.
Unless otherwise requested, the final deliverable will be a standard (24-bit / 44.1 Hz) WAV file, sent via a cloud link. Upon request, I can also provide a -6db copy, which will simply be the final master turned down. I don’t provide unmastered versions of my remixes, and I expect that you will not run my remix through any mastering or audio processing tools without prior written consent from me.
YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
When you’re ready to proceed, please provide the following via a SINGLE cloud link:
- Dry, un-bounced multitracks / stems of your song (one instrument or voice per stem with no reverb, chorus, delay etc). A minimum of three stems is ideal.
- An MP3 of the original song for reference.
- A desired due date and the planned release date for the remix. The due date must be at least 4 weeks out from the time I’ve received your stems and project specs, and may be subject to change if we require extra time to iron out the agreement.
- Information about the music platforms where the remix will be released, including streaming services, download sites, physical media, etc.
- Your proposed compensation. I am open to discussing a flat fee or other arrangements, but we must agree on the final amount before I begin.
- Any specific requirements for the remix (e.g., must be under a certain length, must have a DJ-friendly intro, etc.).
- Any other project deliverables you might need from me (e.g., bio, logo, press photos, etc.)
REVIEW, APPROVAL, & FINAL PRODUCT
When the remix is finished, I’ll send you a watermarked MP3 for your review. (“Watermarked” means you will hear a phrase like “demo version” or “studio copy” spoken every 30 seconds over the audio.) Please be aware that my remixes are an expression of the Perfect Female Type sound and brand. I don’t take creative notes on my remixes, but I am open to a single round of minor technical adjustments (e.g., a volume adjustment on a specific element or fixing an audio glitch).
I’ll then send over the watermark-free master once you’ve confirmed your approval in writing. Once you receive the remix master, you agree not to alter the audio or title of the remix without prior written consent from me. If you need alternate versions (e.g., a quieter copy, an instrumental version, a radio edit, etc.), we should agree on this before the project begins, as they may be subject to additional fees.
You will provide a high-resolution image of the release cover art and any pre-release URLs (Bandcamp, Hypeddit, DistroKid, etc.) no less than 3 weeks prior to the release date. I will promote the release 2 weeks prior to the release date based on the information you’ve provided me at the start of the project. I will rely on you to notify me immediately if you change any of the release details, e.g. date, platform, price, artwork, etc.
Do not communicate project details or changes by tagging me in a social media post. Even if I see the post, I might not catch all of the details. Always contact me via email, direct message, or text!
OWNERSHIP & COPYRIGHT
Upon your final payment, this remix will be considered a “work for hire”. This means all rights, title, and interest in the remix — including the copyright — are exclusively owned by you, the commissioning artist. I will retain no ownership rights in the finished remix.
You acknowledge that I own the Perfect Female Type name, brand, and likeness. You are granted a limited right to use my name and provided promotional materials for the sole purpose of marketing and promoting this specific remix.
After the release date, I may submit the remix to playlist curator platforms like SubmitHub. At your request, I will coordinate these activities with you, to avoid double submissions and other complications.
IN CASE IT DOESN’T WORK OUT
If you choose not to release the remix for any reason, please let me know. If I do not hear back from you within two weeks of delivering the watermarked MP3, or if the remix is not officially released within six months of my delivery of the final master, the following will occur:
- The rights granted to you will revert back to me, provided I refund any compensation you have paid.
- The agreement will be terminated, and you may not use the remix in any way in the future.
This ensures that the remix does not languish in unreleased limbo, and I can seek to release it as a separate project if I choose, while you are free to find another remixer.
