I’m stoked to announce a brand new music project! I’ve been wanting to dive into synthwave for a while now, and I’ve finally done it with Perfect Female Type.
The debut EP Ravish is available now on Neon Retro Records. Rad!
My industrial / EBM band The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse has a track on the upcoming Girlfriend Records compilation A Very Synthwave Halloween, out October 14!
Who doesn’t love a little creepy, throwback ambient techno?
Last year I began recording songs as Timewitch, a project that focuses on leftfield / experimental techno drenched in early 90s synth nostalgia. Now the debut Timewitch album is finally available!
Here’s the promo copy:
The eponymous debut of Minneapolis-based left-field electronica artist Timewitch is a love letter to the freakier frontiers of early 90s synth music. Borrowing from the freshman releases of IDM legends Aphex Twin, mu-Ziq, and Autechre, Timewitch’s eponymous album pays homage to the absolutely bonkers soundtracks of early 90s occult exploitation videos that continue to haunt and delight to this day.
Timewitch is available to stream and download on SoundCloud and Bandcamp.
Enjoy!
I’m ticked and delighted to announce that Miniature Trails of Light, the debut single of my throwback techno side-project Timewitch, is out today!
With an original mix and 6 genre-bending remixes, Miniature Trails of Light clocks in at a hefty 37 minutes of electronic listening pleasure.
The Timewitch project is a love letter to early left-field 90s electronica ala Aphex Twin and Autechre.
Listen now Bandcamp or SoundCloud.
Continue readingI’m delighted to announce that Parasite, the debut single of The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse, drops today!
Parasite is a love letter to late 80s electro-industrial dance music. Pulsating analog synths, breathy FX, hypnotic rhythms, and choral samples beckon you inside steamy nightclubs of the late Cold War era. Let the The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse buy you a drink!
You can hear Parasite on our SoundCloud or BandCamp pages.
The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse are Chris (The Creeping Man), Tom (Divider Line), and me (Jason Herrboldt). Please visit and support Chris and Tom on BandCamp! They make killer music.
Enjoy!
Enjoy these classic synthwave remasters until the lawyers force me to take them down. 😆
Late this year I started a new darkwave band called The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse with local industrial legends Divider Line and The Creeping Man.
The inspiration for this band includes music from the 80s and 90s by bands such as Clock DVA, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, and Cabaret Voltaire.
Our debut single Parasite drops early next year. Check out our SoundCloud page here. (Bandcamp page coming soon…)
Stay tuned!
The Inventor’s Dilemma remix album is live today!
Every song from my 2020 album The Inventor’s Dilemma has been turned inside-out and upside-down by some of the most talented electronic music producers the Twin Cities has to offer.
These remixes run the gamut from hip-hop to old-school techno, from atmospheric horror to tropical house, from synthwave to ambient, and beyond. It’s the whole enchilada!
You can stream or download The Inventor’s Dilemma Remixes on my Bandcamp and SoundCloud pages, and a few excerpts are available on my YouTube channel.
Special thanks to Divider Line and The Creeping Man for their stellar contributions to this project.
Happy first day of fall! 🍁
