If I could blame one song for getting me hooked on electronic music, it would have to be Harold Faltermeyer’s timeless Axel F Theme from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. I was like 11 years old when I saw the movie and could not—could not—handle how cool that song was.

Aretha Franklin never quite reached the grandeur of her glory days in the ’80s, but Who’s Zoomin’ Who brought some decent production quality to an otherwise lackluster single.

Then one day I realized these two songs are more or less in the same key, and my first (and probably last) mashup was born.
