For my next haunted mixtape, I present a sonic swarm of blood-choked screams, growling ambient hellscapes, serial killers, the possessed, and the insane.
Here to guide you through this drafty tour of the netherworld is my alter ego, Father Morning. He will hold your hand as you penetrate the inner circles of Hell, uncover the hidden blasphemies of Sodom, and maybe check out the basement of a local leather bar. (Don’t worry about it.)
As before, I’m relying on the unwitting generosity of a diverse group of musicians and audio engineers for inspiration. Father Morning drew from several putrid wells of creativity to unearth his sonic crash-ups of filth, and he would simply lash himself into oblivion if he thought for one second that these artists might go unthanked. (See regards and apologies below.) Both songs credited to Jason Herrboldt are available as stand-alone tracks on my 2010 single Small Talk. Downloads are free.
But no more delays, no more teasing. Bend over, grab your rosary beads, and prepare yourself for the ultimate in sonic spiritual punishment. The dungeon door is open, and Father Morning will see you now.

Huge thanks to the following musicians and filmmakers for their unwitting help. These artists appeared on the mix in one form or another (no contribution is too small), but in the interest of space they were not all acknowledged on the track list. Sounds and atmospherics by the artists below were used in audio collage crash-ups under my project pseudonym Father Morning. This mixtape wouldn’t even be one tenth as cool without these stellar (and again, completely unwitting) contributions.
A very special thanks to the sound crew that worked on The Exorcist III (1990), a criminally underrated movie from which I borrowed heavily—both sonically and thematically—for this project. (The opening words of track one are spoken by Jason Miller, the actor who played Father Damien Karras in the original Exorcist.)
As always, thank you dafont.com for the cover art font and TwistedWave for the bonkers sound effects and audio editing tools.
